In his recent visit to Turn Out Radio, Allen Kaeja co-artistic director of Kaeja d’Dance reflected upon the making of the memoir “I Found My Dance In a Bomb Shelter – Anecdotes of Gratitude from A Life in Dance.” Co-published by Canadian dance publisher Dance Collection Danse Press/ Presse and Toronto-based contemporary dance company Kaeja d’Dance, the memoir is filled with stories about the people and encounters that have shaped Allen as a son, brother, husband, father, and artist. About Allen Kaeja
Allen Kaeja is an internationally recognized and award-winning Choreographer and Dance Film Director. The child of a refugee, Allen has created over 30 years of Holocaust inspired stage and film works, with over 210 stage works and has Choreographed/Directed 35 films. As Co-Artistic Director of Kaeja d’Dance with Karen Kaeja, Allen’s Kaeja Elevations and works have been featured in commercials, films and festivals around the world. He has received numerous national and international commissions, teaches Kaeja Elevations and Dance Film master classes worldwide, and continues to tour with Karen their lifeDUETs program throughout the world.
