Emily Cheung’s work is a reflection of her deep understanding of dynamics and cultural intersections. She believes that dance is a powerful medium to explore these nuances.

Emily has dedicated herself to preserving traditional forms while infusing them with contemporary sensibilities. This commitment shines through in her choreographic endeavors. Notable Works include “Spectrum of Connection”: a full-length production which delves into the complexities of globalization, human travel, and migration.

Through dance, Emily explores the threads that connect us all. As the Artistic Director of the Little Pear Garden Dance Company, she has created an environment which fosters passion, integrity, and excellence among Canadian artists. Emily was recognized as one of the “Voices of Chinese Canadian Women” during Canada’s 150th Anniversary celebration. In this dance-filled journey, she continues to nurture creativity, celebrate diversity, and leave an indelible mark on the world of movement.
