About Louis Laberge-Côté
Louis Laberge-Côté is an Associate Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University and a dancer, choreographer, educator, and rehearsal director. Laberge-Côté performed nationally and internationally with over thirty companies, including full-time tenures at Toronto Dance Theatre (1999–2007) and Kevin O’Day Ballett National theater Mannheim (2009–2011), and has created over eighty choreographic works. A Dora Mavor Moore Award winner for Outstanding Original Choreography, he is a twelve-time Dora nominee, a triple KM Hunter Award nominee, and a two-time NOW Magazine honoree. He has chaired CADA-East and the Toronto Arts Council’s Dance Committee, served as Vice-President of the Canadian Dance Assembly and President of Healthy Dancer Canada (2023–2024), and provides ongoing consultation work within the broader community. Holding an MFA in Creative Practice (Plymouth/Transart Institute), his SSHRC-funded research on dance pedagogy, somatic training, and XR technology appears in leading journals.
